As MD of Zeon I travel to China 3 times a year to visit the staff and factory managers. The key thing in business in China is to build personal relationships. Mid Autumn Festival is one of the best times to visit China. The festival celebrates the gathering of the harvest and thanksgiving for the harvest. Everyone is in a party mood and the Chinese know how to party. At the factory we put on a gala dinner for all our workers. Parties invariably involve Karaoke with both traditional Chinese and English pop songs. For me it is a fantastic chance to meet and socialise with the staff and suppliers. I can also work on new garments for our clubs. Generally socialising in China is based around mealtimes. It usually involves large groups of family and friends gathering in one of the very many restaurants.
